Wat Sensoukharam. Luang Prabang. Laos

Wat Sensoukharam is busy every day. There is a school. Novices have free time every Sunday and their vivid robes are visible from the distance.

Boys are sent to temple by poor families living far away from Luang Prabang. This is cheapest way to get education.

Wat Sensoukharam called simetimes Saen was built 300 year ago.

Wat is located 100 metres from Mekong river, on Thanon Sakkalin.

The rare feature of Wat Saen are stairs balustrades in the shape of crocodiles.

The temple was renovated 3 times in last century.

One of the most renowed monks in Laos was Ajahn Khamjan who was once ordained here.

Pink Buddha on the temple's yard takes a role of Saen's emblem.
