Nakhon Si Thammarat Wat Phra Mahathat วัดพระมหาธาตุ Thailand

Nakhon Si Thammarat was found almost 2000 years ago. The city was the important Buddhist centre in the Sivichaya empire.

The main chedi 78 metres with a gold conical spire is a landmark of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The golden white chedi belongs to large complex of Wat Phra Mahathat. The temple is one of the biggest in Thailand.

Wat Phra Mahathat holds two annual colourful festivals: Chak Phra Pak Tai and Hae Pha Khun That.

The Wat was found by Queen Hem Chala some 1000 years ago.

The Buddha images are decorates daily by inhabitants of this southern city. People speak here with manner of dropping vocals. The outspoken thai language sounds short.

The monks from Wat Phra Mahathat bless amulets with Buddha images.

Amulet SOMDEJ PHRA SAKGAYAMUNI protects from danger.

The amulet is made from clay mixed with pollen and framed in silver case.

The main Wat structure - mondop with wonderful design is already after a restoration.

Wat Phra Mahathat - peaceful place with positive energy.
