Luang Prabang Wat Souvanna Khiri. Laos

Wat Souvanna Khiri is located along main road on the peninsula of Luang Prabang.

This 240 years old temple is called by local and foreign residents just " Wat Khiri ".

The Xieng Khuang style of sim architecture is the most interesting feature of Wat Khiri.

Wat Khiri was under renovation work between 2000 - 2006.

The 32 Luang Prabang's temples built before French Colonisation are in good shape and thanks to international donors return to their original splendour.

The rectangular buildings of Wat Khiri are constructed of bricks and covered with stucco.

The mosaic tree is the most recognizable symbol from Wat Khiri.
