Neo Rauch is a new king of „Neuen Leipziger Schule“. The painter from Germany.

A German artist from Leipzig whose paintings reflect the influence of socialist realism became the most wanted painter last week.
The Hollywood star Brat Pitt shopped the painting „Etappe“ of the Leipzig painter Neo Rauch for 680,000 euros at Art Basel.
Pitt made a fantastic hype for Art Basel and Neo Rauch. Next year the Hollywood star should get a big discount from galleries' owners in Switherland.

Der Naechste Zug, size 150 cm x 200 cm

Neo Rauch was born in 1960. He became popular in USA after same articles in newspapers like New York Times. The Americans raised with comic books figured out his art. Rauch's stories from the social realism of communism time are performed on canvas with a simple symbolism which can be easy understandable for the American audience.

Das alte Lied, size 300 cm x 420 cm

Neo Rauch won same awards in USA and his first solo exhibition took place in St. Louis in 2003. His first Canadian exhibit was held at the Musee d'art contemporain de Montreal in 2006.
His Americans fans follow Neo Rauch in Europe where he shows his art in Germany and Czech Republic.

Fluchtversuch, size 220 cm x 400 cm

Many of his paintings are large, of common size 3 metres x 2 metres. The king size for the super rich at the art fair in Basel ;-)

Watch Neo Rauch's works in Leipzig.
