Tuk tuk is one of Thailand's symbols. Despite pollution and noise made by auto rickshows, tuk tuk haven' t disappeared from Thai cities.
In Bangkok and Chiang Mai you can take a ride in classic model of tuk tuk.
Tuk tuk use compressed LP Gas in the two-stroke engines.
Auto rickshaws are very popular mode of city transport among tourists. Tuk tuk drivers usually overcharge foreign passangers. Common Toyota taxis are cheaper and more comfortable. But tourists don't have any chance to get such lift at home:)
Many drivers in Thailand don't own tuk tuk. They rent auto rickshaw and pay per day between 300 - 500 baht.
The most beautiful and elegant tuk tuk are in Phitsanulok.
Tuk tuk in this town of 80.000 inhabitants have trunk recalling me Citroën DS from 1960's.
