War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam

The War Remnants Museum is a museum located at 28 Vo Van Tan, Saigon. It contains exhibits relating to the American phase of the Vietnam War, and is a major tourist attraction.

The Vietnam War occurred in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from 1959 to 30 April 1975.
The war was fought between the communist North Vietnam, supported by its communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States.

During 16 years of war 3.5 million Vietnamese were killed. In Laos and Cambodia the number of casualties and losses reached a mark of 2 million. 58,000 American soldiers were perished and 300,000 were wounded.

The museum comprises some rooms in several buildings and military equipment located within a walled yard. The military equipment include a UH-1 "Huey" helicopter, an F-5A fighter, M48 Patton tank, and an A-1 attack bomber.

One building reproduces the "tiger cages" in which the South Vietnamese government housed political prisoners.
