How I lived in Nagaland.

A trip to Indian part of Nagaland.

I arrived Khonoma village in a taxi van.

I found a cosy accomodation run by one grandma.

Grandma cooked for me rice, vagetables and meat.

The rice came from the village and was organic as well as beans and pumpkin. Delicious simple food.

I slept on the first floor in a spacious room with hardwood floor and a balcony.

The day began with coffee.

The magnificent view from my balcony encouraged to explore the next villages hidden behind the hills with rice terraces.

Balinese doors are famous for its rich ornamentation.

Religion is the main motivation in creating forms of doors in Bali.

Balinese doors have no individual character, such as on the island of Zanzibar.

The entrance to the center of the temple is an important element. Praise to the Gods and spirits of ancestors who are in the middle of the Pura manifests itself in an elegant design and finishing of the gate.

The reliefs are inspired by religious mythologies.

Balinese have discovered the word "art" through the western artists who settled the island in 1930's.

But the art doesn't play any role in the life of the simple persons.

They decorate their temples, spending the last money. The end result is stunning.

sprzedała dzieła sztuki za kwote ponad 831 milionów dolarów. Sotheby wygenerował zysk w wysokości 171 milionów dolarów.

Rok 2012 zapowiada się również fascynująco. Sama sprzedaż "Krzyku" Edwarda Muncha, wersji z 1895 roku ( "Krzyk" z 1893 nie jest na sprzedaż ) może złamać barierę 100 milionów dolarów. Wszystko zależy od ilości graczy, którzy ruszą do boju 2 maja podczas sesji wieczornej działu Współczesnej Sztuki.
