The Ao Naga.

I'd visited the local museum in Kohima before I hit the trails in Nagaland. The museum has great collection of tribal jewelry and weapons used in the area some decades ago.

The Ao woman on her way to the festival.

Such necklaces and cotton blankets still can find in Naga Hills, especially on the other side of border, in Burma.

There is an interesting book about the Ao Naga written in 1920's by J.P.Mills. The new reprint was published by Government of Nagaland in 2003. You will learn from this book about local tattoos, beliefs and headhunting raids.
